From the Desk of the Founder

Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Degree College was established in the year 2004, at Banskandi. The college is running its academic venture in a full-fledged building with Air Conditioned classrooms etc.. The college is named after the name of Late President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Sb, who was one of the great son of North Eastern Region of India and visited Banskandi Darul Uloom Madrassa on 28th Nov 1976, during national emergency. In his august visit, the President had inspired people’s to establish schools and colleges along with spiritual and theological education for the greater interest of social up-liftment and to build the country as a developed nation in the world. The college is running three years’ degree courses (semester system) having subjects such as English, Bengali, Hindi, Manipuri, Economics, History, Advanced Languages, Political Science, Foundation course, Philosophy etc. as per the Assam University norms. (Education, Arabic, Sociology are opening shortly) A library & research centre also exists in the same campus.
Computer and vocational training facilities are also available for the aspirant student communities. Opening of Science & Commerce stream is in process. With constant support of veteran academicians, G.B and Staff, the college fulfilled almost all the criteria of University Grants Commission (U.G.C) by 2012. Since the academic year 2012-13, the college is focusing its own identity by receiving full co-operation from Assam University and received permission/affiliation etc. and process is going on for full-fledged govt. concurrence and Provincialization. The college is located nearby N.H-53 and adjacent to O.N.G.C project, Banskandi, also in a peaceful ambience having natural scenario. The distance of the college from nearest airport, Kumbirgram is only 26 km. and from Silchar town and railway station is approximately 12 km.
The college since it's inception could projects it's focuses to the local guardians as well veterans academicians. Above all, to achieve good traits, students are encouraged by assembly classes in every month on the basic topics such as mortality, honesty, patriotism, national integration and general awareness etc. For developing sportsman spirit, inter institutional sports activities are also arranged periodically. And excel student communities in the right creative ventures which will transform the college as one of the ideal institution in the rural Barak Valley. As a donor cum founder of the college it is my dream and vision to equip the college with one of the best infrastructure, libraries, laboratories, air-conditioned class-rooms.
To enable the college to receive all the Govt. assistance and salaries within a short period, necessary correspondences are initiated with state and Central Govt. as our rural students will be able to avail modern educational facilities in order to steer their spirit of leadership to challenge the present complex world. Above all, it is also my firm commitment to the academicians and our native earlier victim guardians, who had seen the dreamt of a college at the greater Banskandi. But, despite of number of attempt could not come into reality due to lack of right able leadership and dynamism. Now, I am optimistic that with the full co-operation from each and everybody, the college will be able to transform the present academic, socio-educational scenario into national level especially with the active co-operation and assistance of Assam University, U.G.C and Govt. Hence, veteran academicians and personality’s whole –hearted co-operation are sought without any reservation to fulfill the dream into a reality.
